Coach Focke, who joined the Pirates staff in July 2007, came to Wylie after a three-year coaching stint at Mexia HS.
He is a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets & Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, earning both a B.A. in History & a B.S. in Political Science. Focke also earned his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law (San Antonio) in 2003.
An All-District athlete in 3 different sports, he was a two-year letter winner in football at Winnsboro HS (1992-94), playing QB, TE and DB. He was also a three-year letterman in basketball (including all-state honors) and earned four letters in baseball. Focke was a walk-on for one season of basketball at Texas A&M.
Coach Focke teaches, and is the team lead for, World History at WHS and has been an Asst. Boys Basketball coach (having coached the JV & Freshmen Boys Basketball teams) for the past 11 years.
He is engaged to Jamie Perkins of Ft. Worth, and will be getting married in the Summer of 2019. Focke, who grew up in Mexia (and lived in Pampa, TX for 2 years) before going to HS in Winnsboro and graduating there in 1994, is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and has resided in Plano since moving to the D/FW Metroplex in 2007.
