Bio

Maxey came aboard as the Pirates head athletic trainer in June 2005.

He attended Trinity Valley Community College, where he earned an Associates of Science. He continued his education at Texas A&M-Commerce where he added a degree in health and kinesiology and earned a Masters of Education at University of Texas-Tyler. Prior to college, Maxey served two years in the United States Army and served six years in the National Guard while attending college.

Maxey is a state licensed Athletic Trainer (since 1998) and Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer.

Maxey comes with a wealth of experience. He served as head student trainer for Trinity Valley’s 1994 national championship team and was a student athletic trainer at TAMU-Commerce for three years.

Prior to his arrival in Wylie, he worked five years as the co-head athletic trainer at Colleyville Heritage HS. He also had stints as an assistant athletic trainer at John Tyler HS and head athletic trainer at Troup HS.

Maxey and wife, Jami (a teacher at WHS), have two children; Seth (age 9) and Madison (age 7).
